Tour Dates Announced for The Endless Journey
18th May 2012
At last we can go public with the tour dates for The Endless Journey. Here at AAA we’ve been holding our breath for what feels like months waiting to hear about funding applications. Today we can finally give The Endless Journey the green light with confirmation of a grant from Arts Council England. The tour starts in Liverpool at Africa Oye Festival on 23 June, heads down to Cornwall for dates in Constantine and at the beautiful NT managed Buckland Abbey before heading to Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan via Spillers Records for a quick promo show. Next stop is Manchester and we are delighted that the musicians will be part of the We Face Foward, celebration of contemporary West African Art, a major city-wide event. The musicians lead workshops for schools and drummers before playing at RNCM. Llangollen Internataional Eisteddfod plays host to the band for a day before they arrive in Swansea at Taliesin Arts Centre as part of their Cultural Olympiad celebrations. The tour ends in Bangor at Gwyl Arall festival for a no doubt roof raising final show. The catalyst for this collaboration was a road trip the band took across Niger to reinvigorate traditional music for a new generation and Jean Molitor’s entrancing film and photographic exhibition of this trip will be screened at selected venues en route. Immerse yourself in the culture of this fascinating country before soaking up the sound of thir distinct desert blues.
