Rango play down under
21st October 2010
Rango take their sonic voodoo from Sudan to Australia and New Zealand to perform at WOMADelaide from 11-14 March and WOMAD Taranaki in Brooklands Park from 18 to 20 March.
The Cairo-based Rango use ancient folk instruments to revive the sounds of darkest Africa, rooted in warfare, slavery, mystic conflict and powerful spirits. Pounding, relentless songs from healing ceremonies and wild wedding dances meld elements of trance, ritual, exorcism, invocation and delirious celebration.
