Bayou Seco return to tour the UK in Spring 2011
Ken Keppeler and Jeanie McLerie, aka Bayou Seco, have spent a lifetime soaking up the traditional music of Louisiana, New Mexico and Arizona. Using a simple line up of fiddle, accordion, banjo and guitar they take their audience on a musical odyssey through the American southwest, performing and reinvigorating long forgotten songs and dances with wit, warmth and style. Their love-affair with the folk traditions of the southwest has already lasted thirty years, and it’s still going strong.
Angie is now taking bookings for Bayou Seco between mid April and end of May 2011. Truly versatile people, Bayou Seco can perform a concert with songs and stories collected on their travels, raise the dust with a hilarious dance night (called like a ceilidh), captivate with their children’s interactive show and get everyone woopin’ and hollerin’ in their children’s workshop with a wild west flavour.
Bayou Seco are one of the pioneers of our ACE funded Creative Learning programme. In partnership with WOMAD Foundation we have developed programmes for Primary and Pre-school children which are directly tied to the UK curriculum and accompanied by a resource pack.
