Cajun Style
Cajun Style is the dance workshop duo Angie and Graham Breakwell, specialising in the dance moves of Louisiana, from the traditional two-step and waltz to the twists and turns and exhilarating moves of the Cajun jitterbug.
Our dance workshops are always fun, welcoming and friendly, are suitable for absolute beginners or the more exerienced, are open to individuals or partners, have no age limits and most all are the aimed at giving participants a really good time. We can run classes of up to 200 at a time but find that smaller groups work best – we try not to turn away enthusiastic dancers but to give everyone a chance to see what’s going on and avoid colliding with each other we sometimes have to ask people to come back for the next class.
We have taught at festivals, arts centres, clubs, weddings, parties, village halls and street events all over the UK and in Europe. We teach to recorded music most of the time but love to involve a live Cajun band. Whenever possible we always try and work with the Cajun bands we bring over from the USA who in the recent past have included Balfa Toujours, Bayou Seco, The Pine Leaf Boys, The Magnolia Sisters, Sarah Savoy and The Francadians and The Cajun Voyageurs.
Get your dancing shoes on and get ready to hit the dusty dancefloors of Cajun country!
